Evelyn Butler Shows, age 92 of Bostic, NC passed away February 18, 2022.
She was the daughter of Oliver Spain and Mary Wilkerson Butler and a native of Rutherford County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James M. Shows, her brother, Charles and sisters, Elizabeth Holcomb, Addaleen Street, Merle Bostian, Vivian Hudson and niece, Donnice Abernethy.
She is survived by daughters Lisa Freeman and husband Russell, Lauren Roberson and husband Jimmy, and son, Philip Shows and wife Jennifer. Six grandchildren, two great-grandsons and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Evelyn retired from REMC after 44 yeas. She was a member of Florence Baptist Church.
A memorial service was held March 5, 2022 at Florence Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Florence Baptist Church, 201 S. Broadway St., Forest City, NC 28043.
