FEMA crew adding support for ambulance service

Rutherford County EMS is receiving added support from FEMA over the next couple of weeks through the Life Line ambulance and crews.

"Rutherford County EMS is very appreciative to have help from FEMA with a two person crew and ambulance currently in our county," said EMS Director Kerry Giles. They will be in the county providing service for 14-30 days.

"The State Office of EMS has worked with FEMA to deploy multiple teams across the state in order to help with the increased call volume, staff shortages, and hospital bed shortages as the current pandemic continues," Giles said.

She encourages the county's residents to thank the FEMA crew if they see them out and about.

"We are experiencing unprecedented call volume and hospital bed shortages due to the continuing pandemic," she added.
