The Forest City Owls Baseball Club announced today the hiring of Tyler Parsons as Director of Fun. The Director of Fun is a new position for the Owls.

The Director of Fun will have an active role in the community and work with non-profit, youth sports teams and groups of all sizes as well as putting on events and fundraisers at the stadium and throughout Rutherford County.

The goal of the Director of Fun is simple: To deliver non-stop fun to fans of all ages.

Parsons comes to Forest City from Central Michigan University, a Division I university located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. There he served as the Ticket Sales Coordinator within the athletic department. Prior to his stint at Central Michigan, Parsons was the Sports Information Director at Mid Michigan Community College and was also a publisher and regional scout for the popular sports site Rivals.com.

“I am thrilled to add Tyler to our staff,” says Owls General Manger Jeremy Boler. “I know Tyler will do a terrific job this year.  He is going to make sure everyone who comes to any Owls game is having FUN!  He is a great addition to our staff and fits in perfectly with the Owls organization.”

Parsons primary objectives are to increase group attendance and to continue establishing the Owls as a key member of Forest City and Rutherford County. Working with the other front office members, Parsons aims to eclipse the single season attendance record by bringing over 70,000 fans to McNair Field for the 2012 season.

Fans will be able to meet the Director of Fun and all of the Owls members on Opening Night, set for Tues., May 29 against the Asheboro Copperheads. A limited number of season tickets are still available for the 2012 season. Season Tickets begin at less than $5 a game.

For more information about any of the Owls ticket plans, call the Owls front office at 828-245-0000 or visit www.forestcitybaseball.com
