A four year old Forest City girl said she isn't sure what she wants to do when she grows up, but should she choose sales she has a good head start on success.

Cora Crain, 4, daughter of Chris and Michelle Crain, raised $800 for the Marine Corps League's 2022 Toys for Tots drive sponsored by the Marine Corps League in Forest City. The Toys for Tots has been distributing Christmas gifts to needy children across Rutherford County since 2013.

Cora started her fundraising efforts selling lemonade in the summer with her table set up at Lifestyles in Forest City.

Although the lemonade stand was successful, Cora didn't stop there. She also set up a hot chocolate table when the weather became cooler, also in front of Lifestyles.

When the two fundraising events were over, Cora had raised $800 for Toys for Tots.

Michelle Crain said as soon as word was on Facebook about Cora's fundraising, there was $260 donated online immediately.

After the two events, Cora and her mother went shopping and spent every penny to buy toys for children for Christmas.

"Who does that?," Sgt. Major Don Barrett asked those attending the Marine Corps League meeting on January 10.

"This little girl did that," Barrett said. "She spent every penny on others," Barrett said.

Cora said she bought baby dolls, a skateboard, a Black Panther and other toys.

Cora's grandmother Ginny Tallent said she is so proud of the parents for teaching their children to be kind, caring, considerate of others and to share.

"In the world we are living now this needs to happen," Ginny said.

Michelle said the family put Bible verses on the cups and prayed over the cups before they were filled with lemonade and hot chocolate,

The couple's younger child, Cohen, also helped.

Grandparents attending the ceremony were Ralph and Ginny Tallent, Mark and Teri Crain. Several other family members and friends attended the brief ceremony.

Barrett presented Cora a framed Marine Corps League certificate of appreciation from the Marine Corps League's Toys for Tots program 2022.
