Frances E. Dunphy, age 92

Frances E. Dunphy, age 92, of Lake Lure, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018.

Frances, a native of Rhode Island was the daughter of the late Edward P.

Colvin and the late Anne J. Doyle Colvin. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Frances graduated from The Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for over 45 years. She was a key person in establishing several home health care agencies in South Florida and Carolina Home Care in Rutherford County. Frances enjoyed painting and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by a brother; Edward J. Colvin and a sister; Anne Gertrude Reardon.

She is survived by her loving husband; Thomas F. Dunphy with whom she spent 67 wonderful years of marriage. One Daughter: Kathleen F. Grantstein and her husband George of Greenacres, FL. Three Sons: Thomas P. Dunphy and his wife Caroline of Boiling Springs, SC. Stephen J. Dunphy and his wife Carol of Lake Worth, FL. Kevin M Dunphy and his partner Thomas Cheung of Tung Chung, Hong Kong. Seven Grandchildren and Seven Great-Grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass was held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Father Herbert Burke and Deacon Andy Cilone officiated. A Rosary was said in the chapel of McMahan's Funeral Home. Interment was held at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Greenville, RI.
