Frank Holtzclaw, age 89

Frank Holtzclaw, age 89, of Cliffside, passed away, Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

Frank was born August 25, 1933 in Rutherford County to the late Hubert Holtzclaw and Lola Toms Holtzclaw Pruitt. He worked at Cone Mills-Cliffside 47 years and was a lifetime member of the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460. Frank was a board member, coach, and President of the Tri-Community/Chase Little League 65 years. He also coached for the Chase Youth football 50 years. Frank was a board member of CAFD for and in his earlier years, a member of Cliffside Rescue Squad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepfather, Jack Pruitt; sisters, Margaret Beam and Hazel Bagwell; brothers, Albert Holtzclaw and Henry Holtzclaw and daughter, Teresa Starr Holtzclaw.

Those left to cherish fond memories include his daughters, Denese Brown (Dennis) and Shelley Holtzclaw all of Cliffiside; son-in-law, Anthony Potlow of Cliffside; five grandsons, eight great-grandchildren, one great-grandson, sisters, Genell Henson, Betty Phillips (Tommy) and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held April 1 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Elgin and Rev. Kevin Bradley officiating.
