The Rutherfordton Garden Club recently presented KidSenses Children’s Museum with a check for $1,000 for use in the Children’s Discovery Garden, which opened for the season on April 6th. The Discovery Garden, which is a 7,500 square-foot space just behind the museum facing Toms Street, serves as a hands-on environment where children and adults can discover a network of natural habitats, including plants, flowers, herbs, bees, butterflies, and a small stream ecosystem.

The Discovery Garden serves as an additional space for KidSenses’ Education Team to provide curriculum-based outdoor science education programs that are nature-focused. The Discovery Garden is now open Wednesday-Friday with guided experiences free with general admission at 10:00am, 11:00am, and 12:00pm. Call 828-286-2120 for more details.
