Steve Garrison received the Best in Show Award at the 2022 Rutherford County Visual Arts Center's Celebration of the Arts Show held at the Foundation Performing Arts Center at Isothermal Community College recently. This marks the second consecutive year Garrison has won Best of Show.

"I could have never imagined getting this recognition two years in a row," he said.

The drawing took Garrison approximately 55 hours total accumulated time to complete over about four months.

"I try to name my drawings after Bible Verses and Job 12: 7-10 seemed appropriate for this year.

"Though not intended, I liked the particular pose of this gorilla as it appears to be a prime version of Rodin's The Thinker.

Other winners are -- 2D First Place: Diane Mann; 2D Second Place: Hilda Moore; 2D Third Place: Kathy Gagnon; 3D First Place: Jim Ksenich; 3D Second place: Grant McRorie and 3D Third Place: Gaylord Cowan.
