George Grady Thomason, 88, of Union Mills

George Grady Thomason, 88, of Union Mills, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late George and Bessie Edney Thomason. Geoge was an avid hunter, fisherman, farmer, the last of ten siblings and was self-proclaimed as The Great One. George was a US Army veteran.

George is survived by nieces, Anita Phillips, Macy Ledford, and Elizabeth Drum; stepson, Steve Guffey (Betty); stepdaughter, Tamara Harmon (Allan); grandson Anthony Guffey (Danielle); granddaughter, Heather Guffey; great grandchildren, Jase Guffey, Abbie Guffey, Carson Guffey, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held February 1 at Crowe's Chapel with Rev. Dale Welch officiating. Military honors were provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
