George Lawrence Ross Jr., age 84, of Forest City

George Lawrence Ross Jr., age 84, of Forest City, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025.

George was born July 19, 1940 in Rutherford County, to the late George Lawrence Ross Sr., and Ruth Crowder Ross. He was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School, class of 1958, and a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. George retired from Fiber Industries (Celanese).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Ross; his son, Jeff Ross; and four siblings, James Ross, Jack Ross, Shirley Gettys, and Sue Burnett.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Watson (Kevin), of Forest City; grandchildren, Kevin Christopher Watson (Heather), Cody Watson (Chelsea), Casey Watson (Whitley), and Brandon Ross; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Pat Ware, Brenda Rowe, Glen Ross, and Lois Rabb.

The funeral was held January 15 at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Terry White officiating.
