George Melvin Taylor age 89 of Rutherfordton

George Melvin Taylor age 89 of Rutherfordton, NC passed away September 11, 2025.

George was the son of the late Dexter and Mettle Conner Taylor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Angie Taylor, siblings Ronald, Luther, Ruby, and Rhonda, grandchildren Jordan Maxwell, and Bo Biddy.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Betty Hudgens Taylor, and children, Matt Taylor, Wayne Maxwell, Amanda Harris, Randy Biddy, Roger Maxwell, Danny Maxwell, and Dwight Maxwell, 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and siblings Martha and Sharon.

Services were held at Crowe's Mortuary on September 14 with military honors provided by the Rutherford County honor guard.
