George Truman Townsend age 79

George Truman Townsend age 79, of Rutherfordton passed away on September 25^th 2012. George was a machinist in the textile industry, and was the son of the late Lester and Barbara Townsend.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Sue Townsend.  

Left to cherish his memory are his fiancé and caregiver Elizabeth Harrison, his son Duane Lee Townsend (Patricia) of Roanoke, VA, and daughter Elizabeth Braswell (James) of Castalia, NC, god daughter Glenda Carey or Kannapolis, NC, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Donations may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County.  Funeral arrangements will be private.
