Geraldine Waters Harris passed away September 29, 2026.
Geraldine was the child of Adam and Pearl Waters. She was a Christian who loved the Lord and sought to live according to His Word. She often spoke fondly of her years at Harmon Street Baptist Church.
Geraldine was raised in Forest City, NC.
Geraldine married Johnny Harris in 1967 and began a 58-year journey as husband and wife.
Geraldine's first job was at Skyland Textiles in Forest City. She the chose a career in retail and customer service, with food service becoming her favorite. She worked at Bost's Bakery, Winn-Dixie, and Harris Teeter. She finished her career at Walmart in Forest City.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lee Harris, and brothers, George and James Waters.
Geraldine leaves behind her children, Vanessa Robbins and husband, David, and Jason Harris and wife, Greta; her grandchildren, Garrett Robbins, Addison Harris-Trull and husband, Hayden, Amelia Harris, and Blake Harris; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Myrtle Logan and husband Ernest; and a niece and nephew.
A memorial service was held October 2 in The Padgett and King Chapel.
