Glyn B. Moton, age 81

Glyn B. Moton, age 81, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019.

Glyn was born March 25, 1938 in Ouachita Parish, LA to the late Jess M. Moton and Louise Senn Moton. He was a graduate of Holly Ridge High School, class of 1956. He attended Northeast Louisiana State University on a football scholarship. He then honorably served his country in the United States Army. Glyn was a Bi-Vocational Pastor for Smith Grove in Maryland while working at Bethlehem Steel. After retirement from Bethlehem Steel, Glyn relocated to the Charlotte area to be near his family. Glyn was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening. Glyn was dedicated to his God, his family and to his country.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Carroll. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Thomasene "Tommie" Moton; son, Greg M. Moton and wife, Holly of Davidson; daughter, Rebecca M. Jackson of Chesterton, Indiana; brother, Jess Moton and wife, Cindy of Greensburg, Indiana and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was conducted at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Mission Trip Fund, 397 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Forest City, NC 28043 or to any Hospice facility of choice.
