Habitat Holds Workshop Looking For New Homeowners

   Habitat For Humanity of Rutherford County is presently building new homes for those who qualify. Their new community in Spindale is called Hopeview Estates. Some homes are finished and occupied while others are being constructed for specific new homeowners. 

   Habitat is desperately looking for qualified applicants. To expedite this process, Habitat is hosting an information session on Tuesday, February 26th at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, Rutherfordton. At this meeting requirements for owning a Habitat house will be explained. Requirements and qualifications will be part of the three criteria for a Habitat home;  a housing need, be able to pay a low mortgage, and be able to provide sweat equity in building their new house.

   Information which you need to know. You must: 1) be in need of decent safe housing, 2) have a sufficient and stable income to pay a mortgage, 3) be a U. S. citizen or permanent resident,, 4) be willing to partner with Habitat, 5) be able to satisfy any judgments, 6) have a good payment history of rent and household utilities, 7) You must also bring with you your last check stub, all other income verifications for the household and your W2 for the year 2012. Income guidelines will also be presented for family size and minimum and maximum yearly incomes.
