Helping Little Ones Stay Dry and Healthy: Partnership for Children Launches Regional Diaper Bank

Partnership for Children of the Foothills is launching a free diaper bank to help families across McDowell, Polk and Rutherford counties access essential supplies for their babies and young children.

The diaper bank will collect and distribute diapers, Pull-Ups, wipes, and diaper rash ointment to support families who may struggle to keep enough basic hygiene supplies on hand. According to national diaper need data, one in three families experience challenges providing enough diapers for their children.

"Diapers are a basic need, but they are also a significant expense for families with young children," said Vanessa Parton, executive director of Partnership for Children of the Foothills. "When families have access to clean diapers, babies are healthier, parents experience less stress, and children are more likely to have what they need for childcare and early learning opportunities."

Clean diapers help prevent painful diaper rashes and infections, while reliable access to diapers can also support family stability. Many childcare providers require families to supply diapers, which means diaper needs can impact a parent's ability to work or maintain consistent care for their child.

Community members, businesses, churches, and civic groups are invited to support the diaper bank by donating:

• Diapers in all sizes

• Pull-Ups

• Baby wipes

• Diaper rash ointment

All donated items should be unopened.

Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm at the Partnership for Children of the Foothills office, located at: 338 Withrow Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
