Hicks William Helton, 79

Hicks William Helton, 79 of Cliffside, NC died Monday, October 2, 2023.

Hicks was born July 19, 1944, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Carl Helton, Sr. and Ammie Luckadoo Helton. He was self-employed for most of his life investing time and energy in numerous business concerns including B&H Guttering and Siding and the Country Plaza at Cliffside.

Hicks was a lifelong Baptist and a graduate of Ellenboro High School. He also honorably served his country in Vietnam in the U. S. Marine Corps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Candy Helton and brothers, Carl Helton, Jr., Donald Helton, and Billy Helton.

Survivors include his sons, Tony Helton and wife Amy of Forest City, Robbie Helton and wife Amy of Cliffside, his sister, Margaret Toney of Winston-Salem, and five grandchildren, as well as a great-grandson.

A private family graveside service was held at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Selman officiating.
