Hilda Smith Proctor, age 95

Hilda Smith Proctor, age 95, of Spindale, died Saturday, January 14, 2023.

Hilda was born July 12, 1927, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Henry Lee Moore and Mary Ella Goode Moore.

Hilda was a graduate of R-S Central High School and a member of Florence Baptist Church. She worked for 25 years at radio station WBBO.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Coy Clinton Smith, her second husband Charles David Proctor as well as her seven siblings.

Survivors include her son, Tim Smith (Penny) of Morganton, daughter, Mary Metcalf (Larry) of Forest City, one grandson, and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held January 17 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Rev. Tonya Garrison and Rev. Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating.
