Imogene Scruggs Bratton, 92

Imogene Scruggs Bratton, 92, a resident of White Oak Manor, Rutherfordton, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013. 

A native of Rutherford County, she was born on December 17, 1920, a daughter of the late Clyde L. and Stella Stroupe Scruggs. She retired from Cliffside Elementary School where she worked as a Cafeteria Worker and was also a homemaker. She was a member of State Line Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Bratton and one son, Jerry Bratton. She is survived by her sons, Robbie and Rita Bratton of Rutherfordton and Terry Bratton and fiancé Suzanne Royster of Lattimore; one daughter, Nancy Flowers and husband Charles of Hickory; two brothers, Bobo and wife Jennie Scruggs of Mooresboro and Earl and Bobbi Scruggs; her grandchildren, Heather Bratton, 

David and Andrea Flowers, Carla Flowers, and Katie DeBenedetto and husband Josh; one great granddaughter, Lisabella Hoffman and one future great grandson who will arrive in April.

Funeral services were held at State Line Baptist Church with the Rev. Kris Showen, Rev. Darrell Revels, and Rev. Ray Heffner officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
