J.C. Moore, age 85, of Ellenboro

J.C. Moore, age 85, of Ellenboro, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025.

J.C. was born August 25, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late John Caldwell Moore, Sr. and Ruth Burgess Moore. He worked in textiles most of his life, having worked for Cone Mills at the Cliffside and Avondale plants. He also worked for the family business at Moore Scrap Metal and Wrecker Service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sylvia Ann Moore; son, Carl Ray Moore; daughter, Pamela Gay; brother, Frank Buren Moore and sister, Mary Quinn Kiser.

Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Brad Moore (Brooke) of Ellenboro, Timothy Gay of Bloomington, IN, Brandon Gay of Forest City, James Gay (Miranda) of Ellenboro, Marcus Gay of Forest City, Kindra Gay of Ellenboro, Haley Brown (James) of Marion; 10 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A gathering to honor J.C. was held June 5 at Harrelson Funeral Home.
