Jack H. Conner, age 77, of Caroleen, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026.
Jack was born September 1, 1948 in Rutherford County to the late Pink Conner and Irene Sisk Conner. He served honorably during the Vietnam War in the U.S Army. Jack earned a bachelor's degree for Appalachian State University. He worked as a manager/supervisor for Galey & Lord for many years and was a member of Caroleen Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Wren Conner and brother-in-law, Miles Gunnin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Barbara Conner; son, Steve Conner (Wendy) of Forest City; daughter, Deanna Basden of Bostic; sister, Margo Gunnin of Forest City; 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; three nieces; five great nieces and one great nephew.
A celebration of Jack's life will be conducted at 7pm Thursday, July 23 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brian Melton officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
