Jack Hudgins, age 65

Jack Hudgins, age 65, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019.

Jack was born May 11, 1954 in Rutherford County to the late Hubert Hudgins and Ruby Flynn Hudgins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. He worked many years as a saw operator for Laughter's Sawmill. Jack enjoyed going to Turkey Shoots, woodworking and fishing. He was an avid Elvis fan. Jack loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Calvin Hudgins and a grandchild.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Deborah Hudgins; two sons, Melvin Cox (Dreama) of Rutherfordton and Jimmy Cox (Nellie) of Ellenboro; daughter, Jennifer Lyda of Spindale; fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by six sisters, Pam Cogdell of Ellenboro, Susie Craig of Rutherfordton, Polly Edwards (Brian) of Rutherfordton, Connie Harris (John) of Ellenboro, Bonnie Ledford (Rodney) of Ellenboro and Patty Kelly (Glenn) of Union Mills.

The funeral service was conducted at the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. Military Honors were accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
