James Arthur Toney, 82, of Ellenboro, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Worth Eddith and Georgia Alma Gordon Toney. James was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and retired from Carolina Freight Company.
Left to cherish his memories are sons, Darrell Toney and wife Kim, Steve Toney and wife Tina, Gary Toney and wife Michelle; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Orbison and husband Danny, Shelley Davis; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family will have a private service in order to honor James' wishes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, or Big Springs Baptist Church, 534 Big Springs Church Rd, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
