James Bridges, 87, of Ellenboro

James Bridges, 87, of Ellenboro, died Friday, September 25, 2026.

He was the son of the late Clain and Luna Padgett Bridges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Morris Bridges, Jerry Bridges, and Sam Bridges.

He was a longtime member of Walls Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon. James was a Shriner and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife Yvonne Bridges; his sons, Eric Bridges and wife Lori, of Cornelius, and Heath Bridges and wife Cindy, of Ellenboro; his grandchildren, Tyler Yount, Colton Bridges, Tyler Bridges, Garrett Bridges, and Kennedy Yount.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Thursday, October 1 at Walls Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Causby will officiate. Visitation will be from 12-1:45pm prior to the service.
