James "Butch" Patrick Gurley, 75, a long-time resident of Tampa, passed away September 4, 2022.
Jim was born April 5, 1947, to Russell and Margaret of Forest City, NC and was a graduate of East Carolina University. He was dedicated to his career with General Motors for more than 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gilda Alvarez Gurley; son, Justin; daughter, Jaime Helms, husband, Josh, two grandsons, and one granddaughter, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Crawford, and two nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa on September 24.
