James Harold Smith, age 88

James Harold Smith, age 88, of Spindale, passed away March 6, 2022.

He was the son of the late Fred and Beatrice Smith, and he was a native of Rutherford County. James was a US Navy veteran. James was the widower of the late Doris Nix Smith. James was a member of Spencer Baptist Church in Spindale.

He is survived by daughter, Cynthia Smith Watson, and husband Steve of Asheville, brother, Boyce Smith of California, three grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.

The funeral service was held at Spencer Baptist Church on March 13, 2022, with Rev. Dr. Bruce Caldwell officiating.
