James "Jim" Madison Robbins, 73

James "Jim" Madison Robbins, 73, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

A native of Rutherford County, Jim was the son of the late James D. and Arrie Hicks Robbins.

Jim was a cum laude graduate of NC State University and was the owner and operator of Robbins Paint and Carpet for 44 years. He was a member of Spencer Baptist Church. Jim loved singing in the choir and also sang with the Sounds of Singing Men and the Rutherford County Chorus.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 52 years, Anne Cole Robbins; daughters Jenny Robbins Thompson and husband Chris of Huntersville, Erin Robbins Smith and husband Jonathan of Cornelius; four grandchildren, sister in law Mary Jane Hines and husband Keith of Denver, two nephews as well as a number of cousins.

Memorial services were held January 8 at Spencer Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating.
