James (Jim) Shephard, age 84

James (Jim) Shephard, age 84, of Sweetwater, TN passed away May 4, 2022.

He was a native of Rutherford County and a member of the V.F.W. Goldstar Post 5156 & American Legion 106. During his time in the US Army, Jim served The Enewetak Atoll, in the Marshall Islands, involved in the testing of Atomic Bombs.

He was preceded in death by parents, Jessie & Irene Hastings Shephard, sisters, Jane Jones, Gail Yelton & Betty Bell, brother, Bobby Shephard.

Survivors, companion, caregiver and special friend for 20 years, Geneva Underwood, daughters, Debbie (Carl) Krodinger, Lisa (Lance) Tresch, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, sisters, Ellen Hudson, Phyllis Shephard, several nieces & nephews, Geneva's family, children, Rita (Danny) Summitt, Daryl (Candace) Underwood, three granddaughters, 4 great-grandchildren.

A Graveside service was held May 6, 2022, at First Broad Baptist Church Cemetery, Bostic.
