James Toney, age 89

James Toney, age 89, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

James was born February 13, 1934 in Rutherford County to the late Charlie Jackson Toney and Naomi Hudson Toney. He was the owner and operator of Toney's Manufacturing for 35 years. James was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Edith Jane and siblings, Ruby Roach and Paul Toney.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Sandra Robinette (Michael) of Sandy Mush; sons, Ricky Toney (Deborah) of Shiloh, David Toney of Sandy Mush, Alan Toney (Kaye) of Shiloh and Steven Toney (Jennifer) of Sandy Mush; sister, Betty Lue Brooks (Andrew) of Chase Community; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral was held November 27 at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Ethan Gardner and Rev. Chad Sisk officiating.
