Jason "J Bird" Price, age 40

Jason "J Bird" Price, age 40, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018.

Born December 19, 1977 in Baltimore, Maryland, he is the son of Roger "Dale' Price of Mooresboro and Patricia Alt of West Virginia. He was a mechanic all of his life and worked for Rocky's Automotive in Forest City for many years and most recently for Cowan's Automotive. In addition to working on cars, his life enjoyment was racing cars which included Go Kart Racing (car # 7), drag car dirt racing and four-wheeling. He was also a CB radio enthusiast with the handle of "J Bird". He also enjoyed fishing and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his step-mother, Linda Price of Mooresboro; wife, Cassandra Hill Price of Rutherfordton; life companion, Lynn Raye of Rutherfordton; two sons, Andy Raye and wife, Tiffany of Forest City and Jason "Little J" Price of Forest City; daughter, Charity Garcia and husband, Graciel of Forest City; sister, Roni Price and fiancé, Jim Bob Conner of Cliffside; three grandchildren.
