Jerry Hollifield, age 88

Jerry Hollifield, age 88, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023

Jerry was born January 14, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late William Ralph Hollifield and Faye Stephens Hollifield. He was a graduate of Tri-High, and attended Isothermal Community College. He worked in sales for Moland-Drysdale Buick Company and as the circulation manager for the Daily Courier for many years. Jerry was a member of Caroleen United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynne Hollifield; brother, Steve Hollifield and sister, Brenda Tuller.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of almost 70 years, Doreen Carver Hollifield; son Bill Hollifield (Kay) of Rutherfordton; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held June 14 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Byers officiating.
