Jerry Toney, age 76

Jerry Toney, age 76, of Bostic, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020.

Jerry was born July 29, 1944 in Rutherford County to the late Hicks Toney and Lucy Morrow Toney. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Jerry was a proud and active member of the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shelby Jean Toney; two brothers, David and Donald Toney and a sister, Dorothy Toney Carver.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Deurlene Hodge Toney; son, Jerry Darrell Toney (Dawn) of Rock Hill and daughter, Pamela Toney Melton (Jeff) of Ponce Inlet, Florida; sister, Doris Toney Scronce of Shelby; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A private service will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Rutherford County Honor Guard, 564 Terry Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
