Jerry Wayne Shields, age 79

Jerry Wayne Shields, age 79 of Green Creek, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Wayne was born on December 18, 1941 in Spartanburg County, SC and was a son of the late Horace Elzie Shields and Ola Lee Shields.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lee Shields, his infant brother, Steven Shields, brother, Herman Shields, and sisters, Juanita Oliver, Esther Adkins, and Dorothy Morgan.

Survivors include his son, Terry Wayne Shields and wife Cindy of Green Creek, his daughter, Diane Shields Yelton and husband Greg of Green Creek, his sisters, Ethel Godfrey of the Shiloh Community, and Brenda Joines and husband Johnny of Green Creek. There are also two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his special friend of Rutherfordton.

The funeral service was held at Sandy Springs Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
