Jerry Williams, age 70

Jerry Williams, age 70, of Ellenboro, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Jerry was born November 20, 1949 in Polk County, to Cecil Williams and Katherine Parker Williams who reside in Columbus, NC. Jerry served honorably in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Williams and a sister, Betty Morgan.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Barbara and granddaughter; two daughters, Carla Binicki (James) of Alabama and Frankie Gettys (Jerry) of Caroleen; son, Jimmy Hardin (Donna) of Cliffside; adopted son, Jerry Cogdell of Forest City; three brothers, George Williams (Marcell) of Shiloh, John Williams of Sharon, NC and James Williams (Frances) of Columbus and sister, Jane Blanton (Roger) of Sunny View, NC. He is also survived by 2 grandsons, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Military honors were presented by Rutherford County Honor Guard.
