Jesse C. Hendrix, age 77

Jesse C. Hendrix, age 77, of Mooresboro, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Jesse was born March 19, 1945, in Rutherford County to the late Viola Hendrix Dixon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Mount Katmai during the Vietnam War. He worked for Liberty Life for 35 years. Jesse enjoyed playing the piano and was a member of the "Prisoners of Love" Gospel singing group.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Floyd Dixon and brother, Donnie Dixon.

Left to cherish fond memories are his life companion, Janice Henson Hendrix; sons Eric Hendrix (Stephanie) of the Hopewell Community and Brian Hendrix of Mooresboro; sister Carlon Bailey of Rutherfordton, five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

A memorial service was held October 4 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Brian Nelon officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
