Jim Green, age 77

Jim Green, age 77, of Bostic, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, November 20, 2023.

Jim was born January 12, 1946 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late Robert William Green and Estella Howard Green. He served honorably during the Vietnam War as an Aircraft Mechanic in the U.S Navy. Later he worked in industrial maintenance for 35 years before retirement. He was a past member of the Forest City Foursquare Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert W. Green, Jr. and Denver Green; sisters, Mary Ellen Palma and Mareta Koonze and a granddaughter, Helen Anne Devens.

Those left to treasure his memory include his wife of 25 years, Anna Green; daughters, Lydia Green and Lori Ann Ivey; son, James Stephen Devens, Sr; sister Nevada Rose Phillips of Waterford, Ohio; half-brother, Thomas Bruce Green of Ohio; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held November 26 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ricky Poteat and Rev. Ted Blankenship officiating. Military honors were accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
