Jimmy Campfield, age 69, of Ellenboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.

Jimmy was born September 9, 1949 in Rutherford County to the late Martha Jane Lovelace Campfield and James "Jake" Walter Campfield, Sr. who resides in Henrietta. Jimmy was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1967 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Sonoco-Crellin and Watts Regulator for many years. Jimmy was a longtime member of High Shoal Baptist Church. He also volunteered as a Boy Scout Troop Leader and a Little League baseball coach. Jimmy was an avid golfer and a devoted Clemson Tiger fan. He loved his family dearly.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Virginia Campfield; father and mother in-law, P. D. and Velma Walker and brother-in-law, Dick Walker.

Besides his father, those left to treasure his memory include his loving wife of forty-nine years, Cindy Walker Campfield; son, Russ Campfield and wife, Crystal of Forest City; brother, Dennis Campfield and wife, Kathy of Boiling Springs, NC; sister-in-law, Becky Walker of Rocky Mount, NC; two granddaughters, and three aunts, Atrice "Red" Thompson, Freida Campfield and Peggy Campfield. He is also survived by two stepbrothers, Junior Branch and wife, Peggy of Six Points and Chris Branch and wife, Myra of Harris and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Military honors were accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Burial followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
