Jimmy Moore, age 82, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Jimmy was born August 22, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Willie Moore and Nellie Scruggs Moore. He was a graduate of Chase High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Jimmy worked as a supervisor for Watts Regulator for over 25 years, before his retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nancy "Joan" Moore; son, David Moore; brothers, Charles, Vick, Bobby and Vernon Moore; sisters, Kathy Harris, Diane Henson and Helen Moore.
Those left to honor his legacy include his daughter, Tonya Bennett (Brian) of Union Mills; sons, Greg "Bo" Moore (Tish) of Cowpens, SC and Tracy Moore (Lorrie) of Ellenboro; daughter-in-law, Laurie Moore of Forest City; grandchildren, Nicole Fowler (Zack), Michael Moore, Jordan Moore, Bailey Allison, Bryson Moore, Autumn Moore, Kayla Allen (Drew), Hunter Bennett and great grandchildren, Alexis Moore and Raiden Jenkins.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Saturday, July 18 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ernie Cole officiating and Mr. Marshall Turner giving the eulogy. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors being provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
