Jimmy Ray Lowery, age 80

Jimmy Ray Lowery, age 80, of Mooresboro, passed away October 25, 2021.

Jimmy was born January 13, 1941 in Rutherford County to the late Virgil Lowery and Myrtle Padgett Lowery. He was a graduate of Tri-High School, and earned a business degree from Isothermal Community College. Jimmy served honorably in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for Duke Energy for 20 years before his retirement and was the owner and operator of Discount Pool Supply/Ultra Pro Tanning in Forest City for many years. Jimmy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henrietta.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Lowery and a sister, Jolene McCameron.

Those left to cherish his memory include son, Justin Lowery of Mooresboro; one grandson, brother, Cotton Lowery (Judy) of Shelby; sister, Berry Dudley of Fort Mill, SC.

The funeral was held October 30, 2021 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Interment with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard followed at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
