Joe Simpson, age 69, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023.
A native of Rutherford County, Joe was the son of the late Hugh and Lucille Simpson. Joe was a member of Southern Baptist Church, and he was the past Master at Western Star Masonic Lodge #91. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Rutherfordton fire department for 40 years. Joe was an auctioneer with his family business, Simpson Auction and Real estate.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his two brothers, Mike Simpson, and Bill Simpson.
Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years, Reba Jolley Simpson, one son, Josh Simpson, and wife Ginny, one grandson.
The memorial service was held August 22 at Round Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Peter Surran officiating.
