John Oscar Stofer (Johnny), age 80

John Oscar Stofer (Johnny), age 80, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, June 30, 2023.

He was the son of the late Earl Stofer and the late Mattie Haynes Stofer. In addition to his parents Johnny was preceded in death by a brother Mike Stofer.

Johnny was a native of Rutherford County. He worked as an electrician in textiles. He was a member of Piney Knob Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Stofer of 38 years, one daughter, Mary Stofer Guffey and fiance Cameron Bradley, two sons, Sammy Dean Stofer and wife Anita, Kevin Ray Stofer, one stepdaughter, Kathy Washington, one stepson, James Douglas Kirby, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held July 4 at Piney Knob Baptist Church with Rev. Casey Stockton officiating.
