John Perry, age 81, of Rutherfordton, went Home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 1, 2023.
John was born April 21, 1942, in Kannapolis. He went to Winecoff High School where he met Barbara at the age of 16. John graduated from North State Business College, Wingate College, University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Daughters are: Melissa, Beverly, Debbie and Tammy.
In 1979, he moved to Ruth where he became pastor of Southern Baptist Church. He remained pastor at Southern until his retirement in 2016.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Barbara, and two great-grandchildren.
His family will have a private memorial service. Per request of John, if you would like to honor him, you can make a private donation to Hospice of Carolinas, Agape Division, or to Southern Baptist Church.
