John Wayne Towery, age 81

John Wayne Towery, age 81 of Forest City died April 19, 2022.

Wayne was born October 17, 1940, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late James Fay Towery and Eloise Christy Towery. He was a retired long distance truck driver having worked for Watts Regulator, and he served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Wayne was a lifelong baptist & graduate of Chase High School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances "Fran" Towery and brother, Chris Towery.

Survivors include son, John Glen Towery of Forest City, daughters, Rhonda Lynn McCraw and husband Mitchell of Forest City, Gina Marie Tate of Forest City, brother, Danny Towery and wife Dianna of Columbus, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held April 23, in The Padgett and King Chapel with Rev.Ethan Gardner officiating. Military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
