Joseph Abraham "Joe" McFarland, age 77

Joseph Abraham "Joe" McFarland, age 77 of the Duncan's Creek Community, died December 5, 2021.

Joe was born June 26, 1944, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Robert Ernest McFarland and Lula Barnette McFarland. He was a lifelong member of Duncan's Creek Church. Joe worked for Dover Textiles in Shelby and for the former Breeden Poultry in Morganton.

Survivors include his brother, Billy McFarland of Duncan's Creek, sisters, Mary Downs of Duncan's Creek, Addie Mae Greene of Morganton and Paulette VanDyke and husband Martin of Golden Valley, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held December 9, 2021, at Duncan's Creek Church with the Rev. Max Burgin and Rev. Bart Shaw officiating.
