Joseph Dudley Hall, Jr., age 77, of Forest City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2016.

Born on Friday, July 22, 1938 in Harlingen, Texas, he was a son to the late Joseph Dudley Hall, Sr. and Marvis Elaine Strohmeyer Hall. He was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1957 and served his country in the U.S. Army. Joseph was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church where he served as Music Director for over fifty years and as the Chairman of the Deacon Board for many years. He was also the adult Sunday School teacher for several years. He worked for Milliken textiles for forty-nine years before retirement. Joseph was a member of the Foot Hills Choir and enjoyed attending gospel singings and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. Joseph was always willing to help anybody.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Irene Spicer Hall; one daughter, Sheila Conner and husband, Michael and one son, Joey Hall and wife, Zo Ann all of Forest City; brother, Wayne Hall and wife, Brenda of Duncan, SC; three sisters, Marie Searcy and husband, Bobby of Columbus, NC, Lulu Mae Walker and husband, Walter of Campobello, SC and Inez Jackson and husband, David also of Columbus. He is also survived by four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Blankenship and Reverend Reid Cooper officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with military honors being rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
