Joy Honeycutt Turner, age 77 of Rutherfordton

Joy Honeycutt Turner, age 77 of Rutherfordton, died February 25, 2026.

Joy was born January 26, 1949 in Rutherford County. She was the daughter of the late William and Bernice Honeycutt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Betty Rowe and her brothers, Rupert, Billy, and Charles Honeycutt.

Joy attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and worked for Rutherford County Schools for 33 and a half years.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Turner, their only daughter, Angela Sides (Tommy), their granddaughter, Victoria Wantuch (Zach), their grandsons, Anthony Helton (Courtney) and Sullivan Stevens, their great grandchildren Turner and Reese Wantuch, her sister, Gail Shields and a number of nieces and nephews, a very special niece, Denita Vickers.

The funeral was held March 1 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. James Henson officiating.
