Julie Scruggs, age 68, of Ellenboro

Julie Scruggs, age 68, of Ellenboro, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Julie was born September 19, 1957 in Rutherford County to the late Molt Edwards and Mafra Silvers Edwards. She was the co-owner and operator of Scruggs Body Shop and worked for Munsey Homes in construction. Julie attended Homeward Bound Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cedric Edwards.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joe Dean Scruggs; daughter, Angela Crystal Danielson of Forest City; son, Joseph Daniel Scruggs of Ellenboro; brothers, Ralph Edwards, Bookter Edwards and Steve Edwards; grandchildren, Curtis Greene (Brittney), Billy Greene (Elizabeth), Cody Lee Greene (Kerry), Coren Scruggs and Jade Scruggs; and four great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held August 20 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Allen Terry officiating.
