June Elizabeth Scruggs, age 94

June Elizabeth Scruggs, age 94 of Forest City died Thursday, January 19, 2023.

June was born June 12, 1928, in New Haven, CT and was a daughter of the late Harry Leslie Madley and Eva Mae Rowley Madley.

She was a member of Florence Baptist Church. She worked as an administrative assistant to her husband who was Director of the Forest City Housing Authority until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Bobo Scruggs, Sr. who died in 2017 and her daughter, June Elizabeth "Susie" Henson in 2014.

Survivors include her son, Bobo Scruggs, Jr., and wife Jackie, son-in-law, David Henson all of Forest City, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service was held January 23 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Rev. Tonya Garrison officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Florence Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 S. Broadway St., Forest City, NC 28043.
