Kay Greene Watts, age 87

Kay Greene Watts, age 87, of Ellenboro, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Kay was born March 5, 1936 in Rutherford County to the late Renzo Greene and Verdia Biggerstaff Greene. She worked in housekeeping and as a cook for Cleveland Regional Medical Center and Rutherford Regional Medical Center for over 20 years. She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dan McGinnis; brothers, David and Bobby Greene; sisters, Dot Coker and Barbara Henderson; stepson, Danny Watts, two great grandchildren, Dillon McMahan and Caleb Watts and a daughter-in-law, Donna A. McGinnis.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Theron Watts; sons, David McGinnis and Doug McGinnis (Cindy); stepdaughters, Pam Campana (Roger) and Angie Blanton (Shawn); stepson, Tony Watts (Jennine); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3pm Thursday, December 28 at Glenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Ervin and Rev. Ricky Poteat officiating. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
