Kenneth A. Byrd, age 84, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020.
Kenneth was born March 6, 1936 in Yancey County, NC to the late Ernest Byrd and Ruby Silvers Byrd.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Proffitt and brother, Lloyd Byrd.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sandra Dobbins Byrd; son, Keith Byrd (Angie) of Rutherfordton; stepdaughters, Tammy Nichols and Tina Yelton (Jeff) all of Forest City; sister, Sheila Deyton (J.C.) of Burnsville, NC; brother-in-law, Gene King of Rutherfordton and sister-in-law, Barbara Byrd of Apex, NC; two nephews, and one niece. He is also survived by five step-grandchildren, and ten step great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was conducted at Piedmont Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
